Tag: Law vs. Grace

The distinction between Law and Grace is the key that unlocks the Bible. If a believer fails to distinguish between these two opposing principles, confusion and defeat are inevitable. The Law, given through Moses, demands righteousness from man: “Do this and live.” Grace, realized through Jesus Christ, gives righteousness to man: “It is done; therefore live.” We believe that the Mosaic Law was a specific covenant for the nation of Israel—a “ministry of death” (2 Corinthians 3:7) designed to reveal sin, not to fix it. It was the schoolmaster to bring us to Christ, but now that faith has come, we are no longer under the schoolmaster.

To mix Law and Grace is to neutralize the power of both. “Galatianism”—the attempt to keep one foot in the Law while standing in Grace—results in a powerless, joyless form of religion that frustrates the work of the Holy Spirit. This section defends the Gospel of Grace against the encroachment of legalism. Here you will find resources explaining why the Church is not under the Ten Commandments as a rule of life, why the Sabbath is a shadow of the rest we have in Christ, and how biblical giving under grace differs from the taxation system of the tithe.

Let every word and pixel honor the Lord. 1 Corinthians 10:31: "whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
