Brother Woody Brohm

Born the son of a pastor, I was raised in a strong Christian home where faith was central to our lives. Now, at 61 years old, I continue to live out my faith actively in Gold Canyon, Arizona, alongside my wife. We are blessed to have two married daughters nearby and five wonderful grandchildren.

Throughout my life, I have made my living working with my hands, yet my greatest spiritual growth has come through studying the Word of God. I have a deep appreciation for scholars like Walvoord, Ryrie, Chafer, and Scofield, whose works have helped shape my understanding of Scripture.

I completed the Scofield Correspondence Courses administered through Moody Bible Institute. This comprehensive training provided a full survey of both the Old and New Testaments and solidified my handle on doctrine. However, I still consider myself an ordinary working man—just like the disciples, who were fishermen and laborers called by Christ to follow Him. As it is written:

“When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13).

I am the author of the Grace and Knowledge Series, a collection of ebooks devoted to exploring and understanding the depth of God’s Word, available on Amazon for purchase or free download, so help yourself (see “Free Resource” link in sidebar). Through this blog, my hope is simply to join the long line of humble saints who have gone before us, pointing the world to the riches of His grace so that we might grow together in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

How I Interpret the Bible

You might notice a specific framework beneath the surface of my writings. Here is a plain-language orientation to Dispensational Theology—what it is, why I use it, and how to spot its thread even when the label itself doesn’t always appear.

At its heart, this is simply a way of reading the Bible that pays close attention to God’s unfolding plan across history. I take promises and prophecies at face value (according to normal grammar and context), and I keep Israel and the church distinct without breaking the unity of God’s salvation in Christ.

I believe God has administered His will in recognizable stages—from Innocence in Eden, to the Law under Moses, to the present age of Grace, and looking forward to the Kingdom reign of Christ.

The “Load-Bearing Beams” of My Writing:

  • Grammatical-historical reading: I believe words mean what they mean. Poetry is poetry and prophecy is prophecy. This guards against reading past the text to make it say what we wish.
  • Israel–Church Distinction: I do not believe God’s promises to national Israel (land, throne, kingdom) are dissolved into the church. The church shares spiritual blessings now, but Israel’s promises will be kept—literally—in God’s time.
  • One Savior, One Salvation: People have always been saved by grace through faith on the basis of Christ’s work. What changes across history is how God administers life and worship.

My goal is not to box God into a chart, but to recognize the turns in the road Scripture itself marks out—from Eden to exile to Pentecost—tracing the one plan that moves toward Christ’s reign.

The Foundation: The Gospel of Grace

While the Bible reveals many doctrines, themes, and prophecies, the Gospel is the simplest and most foundational doctrine to comprehend. It is the key that unlocks the door to all the rest.

The Gospel is the “good news” that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes. In a world filled with bad news, the Gospel stands alone as the only message that can transform the human heart, reconcile sinners to a holy God, and guarantee eternal life.

We believe that salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is a gift that cannot be earned by good works, religious rituals, or moral improvement.

This library of posts displayed below explores the simplicity and sufficiency of the Gospel, contrasting it with the “false gospels” of our day—such as the Prosperity Gospel, the Social Justice Gospel, and Works-Based Salvation. Here you will find resources to help you understand your position in Christ, the assurance of your salvation, and how to share this life-changing message with a lost and dying world.
